ADDIFLAP combines different materials and advanced manufacturing technologies in order to develop high added-value aircraft parts.

  • Additive manufacturing process by laser wire directed energy deposition (W-DED-LB) of titanium alloys.
  • Modelling and simulation of W-DED-LB process.
  • Structural testing.
  • Novel self – lubricant materials to reduce friction and improve wear resistance.
  • Novel design of carriage system.
  • Wear testing.

High added-value aircraft parts:

The project results will be demonstrated through the implementation of additive manufacturing process in a flap track support, the design of sliding pad carriage and the validation of final components to enable the manufacturing of a multifunctional flap system (integrated high lift and flight control functions) as part of Technology Stream A-4 about Novel Control developed by Clean Sky JU).
